So obviously we've spent a lot of time as staff and you know talking to Andy and talking with Chair DeGiorgio, kind of what we anticipate from staff's perspective for on a couple of levels.

One with Broward Next, which I'll get into in a second, and then also how we manage the countywide land use plan.

We have cities out there that we have, they've been some of the first cities to be

Null and void because they were adopting policies to comply with the Boward County Land Use Plan.

And those policies, many of them, have been in the County Land Use Plan for a decade, decade and a half, and they just wasn't reflected in their plan.

And I think when we look at those examples, it really comes to light that we're really unclear on what the path forward with the state is because the my two favorite examples to date are.

are one that we can't strongly encourage the preservation of open space.

A policy that's been in the county plan since two thousand eight was readopted into a city plan and that plan was deemed null and void because of that.

And then another city for the

Right, not strongly required, strongly encouraged.

And then the other example that came down from one of the cities just late last week was the implementation of school concurrency, which I think you're all familiar as a statutorily required process, was deemed more restrictive or burdensome.

So really Andy's just kind of setting the stage of you know what we're trying to manage from staff's perspective and how we can kind of get through that.

It it's been a little bit of a struggle first waiting to see if it was signed into law, which was just before the July first deadline, reading the legislation, and then starting to see these items come through um the state of Florida Commerce and the comments that were submitted to counties or cities.

So we had taken the steering committee comments from the April meeting and gone through each policy that you had agreed to forward.
