So this latest decision in a New York court

reaffirmed the Nationals' belief that they have been underpaid.

And this was for a period from 2012 to 2016.

The decision fell short of ordering the Orioles to pay roughly $100 million.

Now, as it pertains to the sale, it's always been my belief through reporting that any would-be buyer of the Nationals would want to know

how much am I going to make from my RSN deal?

Because that's such a huge source of revenue and I have to know how this all balances out.

So in that way, there is a path perhaps to clarity for true revenues if Ted Leonsis wanted to buy the team.

I would say though, in reporting, there is a line of thinking out there that

Ted Leonsis, who owns obviously the Capitals and the Wizards here in town and the Mystics and is the strongest suitor, he also owns something called NBC Sports Washington, which is another regional sports network.

There's a line of thinking that Leonsis is not as concerned about Masson being resolved because he would like to resolve it himself.

He thinks that

he could work out a deal with the Angelos family, or if Peter Angelos dies, which could happen at any time, maybe that family will sell and there will be new owners and it might be easier to negotiate, but that he wants the chance to fix this.

So do I know that this makes it a clearer path for the Lerner family to sell the Nationals?

No, that's kind of been my assumption since

Again, a reported assumption all the way along.

But what happened last week means that next month the Nationals will be sold.

Well, I think if you're a Nats fan, you have to look up the BW Parkway and say, okay, that's what we want to be in three years.

I mean, they accumulated a ton of talent from being bad.

No team lost more games between 2017 and 2021 than they did.
