APCOA's accounts, like I say, showed the company operates an employee bonus scheme, but they do not identify who receives bonuses or how they are calculated.
APCOA did not answer my questions, like I say, about whether it's clamping officers receive commission or performance related payments.
However, Christian, as we heard, claims he was paid more depending on the number of vehicles he clamped.
And the chairman of the
Irish Parking Association, the lobby group for the clampers, has also confirmed that some private companies do pay bonuses to clamping officers.
So that does raise questions about both financial incentives and discretion.
In my case, I had a valid permit and could produce it immediately.
Other motorists who I've spoken to, and I've spoken to many.
They told me that they'd paid for parking but were clamped after entering maybe one incorrect digit of the registration.
They paid for full full parking but made one human error.
Mistakes happen.
During this investigation, a co's communications contact accidentally sent me an internal email that wasn't intended for me, it was intended for the company's managing director.
But when a motorist makes a similarly inadverted administrative mistake, it can cost one hundred and twenty five euros.
So if

It just you've put in the wrong number plate and so it's not they count it as that you actually haven't paid parking for your car.
And could rewarding enforcement activity create a conflict of interest?
I put those questions to the chairman of the Irish Parking Association, David Cullen.
I've spoken to a former clamper who worked for one of the large companies.
He says that he could earn more depending on how many vehicles he clamped.
