Well, howdy there, Internet people.

It's Belle again.

So today, we're going to talk about Bondi, Epstein, Trump, and the subpoena.

Now that former Attorney General Pam Bondi has left office, she appears to be trying to get out of testifying before the House Oversight Committee.

Some suspected at the time of her departure that she would attempt to avoid the testimony, with some going as far to suggest that her being pushed out was actually an attempt to further cover up the files by ending the house investigation.

Luckily, this is one of those situations where everybody is putting everything in writing, in letters and on social media.

DOJ has reportedly sent a letter to the committee stating that they believe Bondi should be released from the proceedings because she's no longer in the Attorney General's slot.

The letter asked Kentucky Republican and House Oversight Committee Chairman James Comer if she was being excused and said, quote, We kindly ask that you confirm that the subpoena is withdrawn.

Democratic Representative Ro Khanna of California and Republican Representative Nancy Mace of South Carolina also wrote a letter to Comer that asks that he publicly reaffirm that Pam Bondi must appear for her deposition on April 14th.

A spokeswoman for the House panel seemed to indicate they weren't willing to let Bondi skip the deposition, but that April 14th may be out, saying, The Department of Justice has stated Pam Bondi will not appear on April 14th for a deposition since she is no longer Attorney General and was subpoenaed in her capacity as Attorney General.

The committee will contact Pam Bondi's personal counsel to discuss next steps regarding scheduling her deposition.

The panel's ranking member, Representative Robert Garcia of California, said, Now that Pam Bondi has been fired, she's trying to get out of her legal obligation to testify before the Oversight Committee about the Epstein files and the White House cover-up.

Our bipartisan subpoena is to Pam Bondi, whether she is the Attorney General or not.

She must come in to testify immediately, and if she defies the subpoena, we will begin contempt charges in the Congress.

The survivors deserve justice.

Khanna later said, quote,

Sadly, right after Nancy Mace and my letter went public, Bondi backed out of testifying.

The cover-up continues, but we will fight for accountability.
