So today, we're going to talk about Comey and the future.
Just a quick recap.
Trump wanted former FBI Director Comey indicted.
The U.S.
attorney in the area said there wasn't enough evidence to seek an indictment, much less when at trial.
Trump replaced the U.S.
attorney.
The new U.S.
attorney went forward with an indictment.
Comey was indicted on two counts.
The charges are related to lying to Congress and obstructing their investigation.
The indictment is short.
In relevant part, it says, quote,
James B. Comey Jr.
did willfully and knowingly make a materially false, fictitious, and fraudulent statement in the matter within the jurisdiction of the legislative branch of the government of the United States.
