Do you know how well penguins can see underwater compared to on land?

Oh, I think I've seen similar tests for newborn babies.

Yeah, I bet.

By the way, are there any land animals that can smell underwater?

Well, there are no land animals that have gills that could smell like perhaps a shark could.

But there is the star-nosed mole and water shrew, these tiny little mammals which dive underwater looking for prey.

And what they do is they exhale tiny bubbles out of their nostrils into the water and then suck them back in.

And they do this really quickly.

It's like sniffing.

And they can follow the path of a worm or whatever they're hunting for underwater that way.
