Cardiac rehab is something I think a lot of people have perhaps heard about.

Well, you're about to hear in the interview what cardiac rehab is and how it works in Australia, but it does improve outcomes for people who've had a heart attack or any kind of heart disease.
So there is a robust evidence showing that it works.
Yes.
But a study has suggested that perhaps not many people actually end up doing it.
And the question is why?
It could be.
I spoke with one of the authors of the study, Dr Susie Cartlidge, who is a senior research fellow at Monash Alfred Baker Centre for Cardiovascular Research.
To be really clear, we're talking about cardiac rehab following some form of event, so a heart attack or some form of intervention for heart disease.
A lot of people don't realise that after something like a heart attack, you're at higher risk of depression, that it can have psychological implications.
