At 100 decibels, it only takes 15 minutes to reach damaging noise exposure.

And the safe exposure time halves with every extra three decibel reduction, I assume.

So it's no wonder people are complaining of tinnitus after the gym sessions you describe.

Jill writes, I long for the day when concert venues, gyms are required to limit the average decibel to safe levels.

Reducing harm through recreational noise exposure would ease the burden on the healthcare system and NDIS due to noise-induced hearing loss and data life.

Well, I think that Jürgen, who was the researcher that I interviewed, beautifully said that there's kind of risk and benefit there.

So yeah, that's certainly an interesting element to this.

And I did think at the time, and that's why I asked about the potential protective impact on the heart, because red wine is, of course, in the Mediterranean diet, Norman's favourite.

So yeah, it's interesting.

That's probably something that we could follow up on.

But as Jürgen said at the time, there are risks and there are benefits.

So whilst you might be yielding some benefit, you may also be increasing your risk of

alcohol-related cancer at the same time.

It's not all good and not all bad, if that makes sense.
