So when an archaeologist told me about an intriguing sword he'd recently acquired, well, I had to investigate.
And it turns out that some of the most famous and infamous figures in maritime history, including feared Southeast Asian raiders and Admiral Lord Horatio Nelson, may have once brandished this very sword.
And it looks like it would be right at home in the hands of a pirate.
