And I did think it would be McLaren in terms of how their development's looking. matched

There's an element of like maybe overplaying the recency of McLaren being strong on particular types of tracks, you know, Hungary, Zandvoort. matched

Madring was maybe a bit more of a surprise, but again, not so punishing for them in terms of their gear ratio situation and the straight line speed and the drag. matched

So the question is whether McLaren can kind of broaden that window of the car and compete with Mercedes across the full range of circuits at the moment. matched

They've had 10 of the 14, I think. matched

They could have had more, but for some unreliability in particular circumstances. matched

And they've barely upgraded the car. matched

So even if McLaren are moving into a strong position now... matched

You're still waiting to see what Mercedes deploy and then how that feeds in into next season. matched

So I think it's a bit early, even though McLaren's form is starting to look a bit more like what we'd expect from the champions of last year. matched

It's a bit early to be saying that they're kind of properly moving into the Mercedes full championship title fight window. matched

Yeah, to me, it's basically Formula One doing what Formula E wanted to do, which is bring racing to, as you say, urban centres. matched

And that just limits your topography in terms of what type of track you can have. matched

So you end up with these kind of jigsaw puzzle piecemeal tracks. matched

Madring, from the TV pictures, it looked like a mix of a bit Miami, a bit Jeddah, a bit Sochi. matched

And there were sections, especially when they went under the bridge, you're like, oh, that just is like Miami. matched

And of course it would be because you're next to a motorway and you're in this exhibition centre in Madrid. matched

And you want to be in Madrid because as it's an urban centre, people can get to it more easily. matched

They can get to the track more easily. matched

There are more people who might be able to just turn up or pay and go to the race than, say, in the middle of the Ardennes Spa in the kind of fields and farms. matched
