So if that trajectory continues into the second half of the seasons, it's with that buffer that you mentioned it, it's Antonelli's to lose.

I think the problem he might have there is all these upgrades that Mercedes are sitting on that they haven't deployed.

They've basically waited for Ferrari and McLaren especially to shoot their bolts in the first half of the season.

I imagine they're gonna bolt some bits on the car, take a step, and they've already been still winning plenty of races, and then it'll be see you later, like the first first part of the season.

So that that makes if that happens, that makes Russell's job

But I also just think from a pure driving style point of view, I think he's really up against it with these cars.

I know, Edge, you've said a few times that this is the era of Formula One where the driver has the least input because of the energy challenge, which obviously does change based on the circuit parameters, but it still applies universally, even if you take Hungary versus Spa, which are kind of opposite.

Ends of the spectrum in terms of the energy challenge.

Still at Hungary, the minimum corner speeds in those slower corners are much lower than they were the season before.

And there seems to be this pattern that if you try and take a little bit more corner speed in a slow corner, you get punished.

So there's this to me, there's this disconnect between like entry phases of corners and exit phases of corners.

It's almost not quite GT racing, but maybe like

Like maybe it's a bit go-karting in the way that they just sort of have to pile into the corner, but then use the rear to turn it a bit, use the downshift, but then not carry too much speed, get the exit right, but keep the revs up.

The high speed doesn't exist at all.

And that's one of Russell's big strengths.

So he can't count on that anymore.

So I just feel like because he's boxed into this very narrow, well, they all are boxed into this.

It then favors the guys who are specifically very good at dealing with that lack of grip on the front, the nervousness, the sliding, the fact it's almost like not quite in the wet all the time, but a little bit like that, just low grip.
