It's always been like that.

Only 25 million of us.

Well, I think we're surrounded by water, aren't we here?

You've got to swim.

I don't think every kid learned how to swim, didn't they?

My mum used to teach the neighbourhood kids in our back pool.

So from as young as I can remember, everyone used to learn how to swim.

And that's just the way it is here in Australia.

We've got some pretty good coaches and we've got some pretty, you know, we've been sort of leading the way for a long time now.

And, you know, even in the last 15 years, the sports science and just that sort of dropping back the massive miles that we used to do in the 90s.
