I think last year, if you remember, the Padres got off to a 14-3 start, and then they were a one-game under .500 team after that, but that 14-3 start buoyed them into the postseason, where they lost heroically against the Chicago Cubs.
But I think something similar is happening right now.
Like, everything is just working out way too well.
The pitchers that they signed in the offseason, Walker Buehler and German Marquez, haven't had those blowups yet.
Randy Vasquez, outside of a couple days ago, is pitching better than anyone expected him to pitch this year.
They haven't had that issue yet, and they have the best closer in baseball.
So I'm curious to see what happens.
Yeah, and that is a great ballpark.
You know, it's funny, Seren, because there are certain places like Bub's down by the ballpark.
If you're going to Padres game, you're probably going to Bub's.
They do so well and they're always packed.
But so much turnover continues to happen.
And I've lived in San Diego now about a decade.
And it's crazy how many different spots have popped up.
So on the outset, it looks like, oh, it'd be great to have a spot right next to Petco Park.
You would never run out of business.
But I think owning a business in California is so damn hard and owning a restaurant even harder that it can't be as good as it looks because it feels like there's a new place every other week.
