Far-right candidates are sweeping statewide primaries.
Congressman Andy Biggs is now the GOP nominee for governor here, and state lawmaker Alexander Kaladin won the GOP race for secretary of state.
They both cruised to victory in the primary, largely thanks to endorsements for Biggs from President Trump and for Kaladin with the backing of Turning Point, the political machine founded here in Arizona by the late Charlie Kirk.
But the thing is, Trump's endorsement and turning points backing isn't as meaningful in the general election when these MAGA candidates have to appeal to a broader portion of the electorate.
Former NFL placekicker Jay Feeley won the Republican nomination in Congressional District 1, according to a race call by the Associated Press.
The Trump-endorsee will face either Amish Shah or Marlene Gallan-Woods in November.
The Democratic primary has not been called, but Shah had an early lead.
But either opponent will likely prove a challenge to Feeley in a North Phoenix suburb considered one of the most competitive races in the country, especially so given it's a race for an open seat.
In Southern Arizona's District 6, another toss-up race, incumbent Republican Juan Siscomani will face Democrat and veteran Joanna Mendoza.
Both candidates ran unopposed in their respective primaries.

DNC Chair Ken Martin says the investment is part of efforts to get the party more involved in voter registration.
In the past, he says, Democrats have relied on nonpartisan groups barred from discussing the party's candidates or core values.
