As many people were saying, there's no fail state as if this was some sort of sin, right?
And to me, I think it just boils down to
Was this experience enhanced because of its medium?
Was this better?
Did this story affect me more because it was a video game than if it had been a movie?
And I honestly think it did, even though this was not some sort of mechanically complex, you know, coordination requiring game.
It's essentially Edith Finch-esque, right?
You know, it reminded me of What Remains of Edith Finch, another Annapurna published classic where you have a lot of little vignettes and almost mini games.
And through these mini games, you learn more about your character.
characters and you flesh out their history.
And a lot of them I thought were quite charming and actually pretty impressive in their interactivity.
Just the variety of the interactivity.
People have probably seen one of the viral scenes, which is that you get to simulate Stacey's first kiss.
And it's gross as many first kisses are.
It was so funny.
You control the tongues, you know?
I was like, dap me up.
But there's a lot of that where it's just very inventive, where, okay, even if this is not challenging, I have not quite played anything like this before.
And also, sometimes it is deceptively deep.
There is a stone skipping sequence, right?
