When it comes to the Nintendo movies, Miyamoto had a quote where he was somewhat disappointed by the critical reception.
He thought that the critics may have had a point the first time around, but he thought that...
the reception was going to be warmer the second time around.
And sorry, Shigeru, but I guess not.
He did say that he's baffled by it because here's Nintendo crossing over into movies to help revitalize the film industry.
Yet the very people, he said, who ought to be championing that cause seem to be the ones taking a passive stance.
Ooh.
Yeah, I know.
Brother.
Miyamoto-san.
Second of all.
Right.
But also, sure, you know, we're not here to be cheerleaders.
I mean, sure, I'm all for propping up the movie industry and putting butts in seats.
But, you know, you got to make a good movie, too.
And a good kids movie, a good animated movie.
even by those standards, this just did not satisfy.
So yeah, we're not going to be out here, you know, celebrating Nintendo for just the benevolent gesture of making a movie out of the kindness of their heart to save cinema.
Also, I will probably be seeing the Call of Duty movie because I will slurp up any slop that Taylor Sheridan serves me.
And I'm not embarrassed about it.
