You know, otherwise, I don't think a lot of people know.

Yeah, it is genuinely hard to make sense of.

I mean, I'm looking at a pitcher who's getting a ton of strikeouts.

And normally when you get that many strikeouts, you're not getting hit hard.

For Hoffman, he's getting hit really, really hard when it's not a strikeout.

So it's just incongruous to see that combination.

Again, we've talked about this before.

I will point out

His BABIP, batting average on balls in play, over 500.

You know, league average hovers around 300, give or take.

So it's way up there.

Now, partly, that's probably because he's not putting the pitches where he needs to.

Partly, it's fluky.

There is a flukish element to this.

Now,

don't get please, please, like, don't, you know, misinterpret this as me saying that Jeff Hoffman is, you know, this is all a product of luck.

And it's all gonna, it's all gonna turn around, because I'm not saying that.

And I don't believe that.

And I know people are tired of being pointed to his baseball savant page, because it's like, time for results, we're in June, and he has not delivered results.

And that's ultimately on him.
