Yeah, I did theatre studies, A-level, and then I did a drama degree.

And I've got a Master's degree in screenwriting.

And I was a playwright for a little while.

I mean, I was a playwright.

I wrote plays.

Yeah.

Oh.

Yeah, we put them on.

I was the playwright first, and then immediately afterwards, I was the lighting designer.

And then immediately after that, I was just the guy who had to make the set and the props and then run the lighting rig.

I had to do everything.

And they were like, yeah, you've finished your bit, so you can go and do this now.

Okay.

But, yeah, in seriousness, I find that it's the same impulse.

Like, figuring out what's going on in front of me feels the same as it did when I was writing plays.

Obviously you don't lay it out in the same way.

And it's a lot cheaper to stage when it's just a book.

But yeah, it's still the same, still has the same kind of, the same impulse to it.

And I'm still influenced by the same people.
