Something is happening behind the scenes and new tactics are being employed.
It's a step up and a step on from what we've seen from the far right in recent years.
I think the interesting thing about this actually is that they're learning lessons from the left and from others.
Everybody wearing the same clothes, black, a black block.
It's something taken from anarchism.
This is the far right learning from its opponents, learning from its enemies.
Well Portsmouth last night we had Portsmouth being used for the first time or perhaps for the first time in a long time um as a an area where some uh migrants who'd been crossing the Channel on quite a large dinghy, a large vessel.
Um they'd been brought brought ashore for the first time and they were going to be brought out of Portsmouth and then be processed elsewhere.
And the far right, this far right group which
we're talking about seized on that as a as a choke point.
blockading uh blockading uh and preventing the coaches from leaving, to go to be processed elsewhere and turn into a standoff.
Obviously the police were there as well.
Yeah, uh there were no arrests made and Dover, uh you know, you had these really vivid images, as you say, of um hundreds of uh men, mainly men, in black, black balaclavas, uh black clad, uh largely silent but w chanting as well.
Right.
And while the police had described it as spontaneous, this was clearly uh a coordinated flash mob.
Yeah, I mean people are are asking the question w why police were not aware this was coming because many other people probably could have told them.
Yeah, people who've been watching um this over the over the summer months would have said something was building.
I mean, it's i in instructive though at the same time there was no counter demonstration uh at Dover.
So it did catch a lot of people on the hop.
And the people who are behind these protests or these assemblies appear to have managed to pull them off in a very incognito way.
