And Pep just kind of goes, look, you know, he's a young man.
You know, he's still at the very beginning of his football career.
He's not, physically, he's still got a bit of developing to do.
So I can see why Pep is protecting him.
But also, don't forget, they know they've got an absolute gem here.
This is a player who doesn't moan, doesn't complain.
He knows where he sits in the squad.
He trusts his manager implicitly.
And you can tell by the affectionate relationship they have between the two.
If you ever catch them on the pitch, Pep will always be giving Foden a hug.
He really appreciates him.
I think he does see him like a surrogate son.
And I think that relationship is really important.
There's no doubt Foden's improved because when he has played, particularly as we saw at Wembley, he was absolutely brilliant.
I mean, a player that young to go into that game, it was a final, you know, not showing any disrespect to Aston Villa and you're expecting Man City to go and win it, but it was a final at Wembley.
There was a lot of pressure and he really stood up, I thought, and showed what he's all about.
And I think actually that's probably the reason why he didn't play against Sheffield Wednesday because he
you know, you would have expected him to maybe keep his place for the Wednesday game and then drop out.
But actually, Pep at some point is going to have to hand over the baton.
David Silva, been a brilliant servant for Man City, coming through his contract, he's going to be leaving in the summer.
