you had some real causes for concern, not because some journalists weren't trying their very best to do their jobs, but because Trump was trying to pressure, in a way we've seen in other countries, their parent companies, right? matched

And, you know, we could argue that the tenor of CBS News has changed a bit since the Ellisons bought it, so I'm not suggesting we're totally out of those woods yet. matched

But I think, you know, a lot of journalists, including ones in that room, have demonstrated that they are not going to be intimidated. matched

Individual journalists, sometimes even more than the organizations that they work for. matched

And that's, I think, what you should be celebrating. matched

And frankly, that is the example that others should follow. matched

And we should note they're even independent journalists, sometimes without any parent organization. matched

They're also doing good work. matched

But it does feel like there's the momentum here may be shifting back. matched

Trump's going to be around for two and a half years. matched

He's got tremendous amounts of power. matched

But it does kind of feel like whatever psychological barrier he was trying to throw down in his first year, matched

At least there have been some punctures of that. matched

And hopefully that's generating some momentum for even more accountability journalism. matched
