I'm a father of a teenager and a 20-year-old.
Of course we parents have to take responsibility.
But it is the businesses said that with the privilege of making money, selling alcohol in this country, it's a restricted product.
They have an obligation to us.
And the banks, I believe Ben and Sarah are right.
The banks have an obligation to follow Westpac
in Australia and assure parents that when we take our kids to a bank, we get them a payment card and account, that they are not able to use those cards to buy alcohol.
Now, that won't fix the entire problem.
Of course not.
Kids are clever.
If they want to play up, they'll play up.
We know that.
We know that.
But we shouldn't be making it easy.
All the adults in the chain should be taking their obligations seriously and using the tech that's available to them to actually do that.
