The element that you're talking about and the spacing element that you're talking about, it's still built on what at this point feels like a relatively low volume shot diet.
And we know he's a great shooter.
Like he's one of the great big man shooters ever.
But...
strategically, I would kind of ask him to take more threes than he takes, especially in driving situations, right?
He only took, correct me if I'm wrong, he only took a couple threes off the face-up jab step, like you're going to sag off my drive, I'm going to shoot it.
Whereas he's using the shot to set up the drive or defenses are really drawing out to him and he's just catching and moving and playing through there.
I just was fascinated that more teams didn't ask him to take a ton of threes and see if he was comfortable out there taking like 7, 9, 13 a game and playing that way.
Well, the Spurs obviously try to keep Wemenyama off of him a lot of the times.
They try to keep Wemenyama off the opponent's best shooter and put him on the worst shooter and kind of keep him near the basket.
