in the building in Madison Square Garden, all my Knicks fans, friends who were just in full meltdown mode, like that's it, it's done.

And even strategically,

the Spurs got to where they did in the six quarters, the first six quarters played in Madison Square Garden in this series because they made some changes and it was like, oh, what is happening?

This is crazy.

And then within about 45 minutes of real time, flipped all the way back around to Ken San Antonio, do anything right and win a game in this series.

I don't remember ever having a series with that extreme level of whiplash, certainly not in the NBA Finals.

We could just do the whole show on the Bucs.

Isn't that what you want?

That's how you want to do it.

You want to just get on the couch in front of everyone and try to see if we can somehow wrangle in what feels to me like the most impossible thing to wrangle in.

I mean, I think for me, I'm going to need – I said this last week.

I'm going to need like 2027 to help contextualize 2026, which will also help contextualize 2025, which was its own thing.

I mean, this team has only been together –

two years and of course made the conference finals last year and uh you know won the nba championship this year with just just statistically we'll get to it we'll get to it later in the show many other shows have talked about it but just statistically one of the greatest postseason runs um we have ever seen in league history so maybe let's just start with the spurs because the spurs side is actually really interesting to me looking back on this playoff run

They, to me, represent an experiment in basketball that I don't think we've ever seen, certainly not in this modern game with all the economics and the playoff series adjustments with 16 coaches on the bench and all the technology we have with cameras.

We have not ever seen, Cody, that I can think of, a team that was so far ahead of its timeline

that it's playing against the championship-level teams in the later rounds of the playoffs for the title with a team that the front office didn't even expect to really be in the playoffs.

So we got to finally see, for maybe the only time, the actual thought experiment that you and I talk about all the time with playoff players, 16-game players, four-game players, championship-level players,

The differentiating factor between like, yeah, you're young and you have some skills that are B plus or A minus skills, but...

You have to round out in all the other areas of the game with your experience.
