His gravity on offense is by far his biggest offensive factor in a playoff series right now where teams are game planning around his entire role gravity because he's such a problem in this area.
So getting Steph Castle as someone who can make those passes...
was a key part of the Spurs offense being a really good offense this year, especially after February 1st when they really turned the corner and became nearly unbeatable for a while.

Like I can think of one where we talked about where Castle was trapped out near half court and he looked to the corner and then threw it to the basket.
But there weren't really many.
So this isn't a team that made the NBA finals with a ton of guile, with a ton of great high IQ passers.
passes and like little tricksy plays where you're improv improvising a screen on the fly to pin in out of the corner and get someone an open shot that's not how they succeeded in fact they succeeded in spite of that that was the weakness when you look at this great defense the thing that jumped out to me on film was like oh yeah they still have guys that just like kind of botch rotations or don't communicate enough you know a lot of this a lot of the
defensive errors they had in the finals were someone like Julian Champagny trying to make a hero rotation credit to him he's like okay I see what's happening I gotta get over there but if you don't communicate when you do that a second spur comes with you and so a lot of these possessions just like it's almost like vintage Knicks if the Knicks go on next year and have a similar year where they look great and are very difficult to defeat in the playoffs even if they don't win at all again
The vintage Knicks possession to me, Cody, is the late clock possession where things are starting to scramble and you're shooting like some ridiculous, you're shooting like 45% on these late clock possessions where just Champagny and Fox just take two steps in the wrong direction together.
