Why is that?

Well, for a few reasons.

Number one, if we if a lot of the most important AI is done on you don't necessarily need HBM, just regular RAM is fine.

And then you need like a lot of a lot of storage beyond that.

And relatively slower chips are okay because they're waiting around in memory anyway.

Uh China can make all that stuff, number one.
