And you and no one does that anymore.
The thing always people used to say was, you know, Intel gives and Microsoft takes away that Intel would create more compute and Intel and then the new version of Windows would use it all.
And in a you could very, very crude level, you could say this is all great for AWS, because now everyone needs to buy more compute and who's good at
In in a sense, like Met Ama AWS and Meta are on the same page.
In the meta wants this to be c cheap generic commodity infrastructure that's sold at marginal cost and they will differentiate on cool Facebooky stuff on top.
Um Amazon wants this to be cheap generic commodity marginal infrastructure.
So commod i infrastructure that's sold at marginal cost, because that's what AWS is.
That's what they do.
So I wrote I do a a weekly column for my my people who pay the buy the premium version of my newsletter and I wrote something about distribution on Sunday night.
And it struck me it is and it's kind of coming back to something I said earlier, which is that
If the models are all sort of the same.
But open AI is the only one that anyone uses that that that that has consumer mind share.
And you go back to thinking about like smartphone apps and services and, you know, Instagram and stuff ten years ago.
There was this whole thing of like, should you unbundle this new feature into a separate app or should you make it a tab in the existing app?
And um what Meta did was they didn't make Reels a standalone app.
Reels was it they bundled Reels into Instagram and made it its own tab, even though it's arguably a completely unrelated product, but they they sort of decided to do that for distribution.
