Yeah.

I liked George a lot.

I can't remember.

I don't remember Hornblow.

But I do remember when I began to write.

I was writing the first one.

I took two books.

One, I'm sure, was a Hornblower, but I can't remember what the other one, it was by George somebody, The Paladin.

I thought George MacDonald Fraser wrote The Paladin, but... No, he didn't.

It was, no, it was somebody else.

Okay.

And I literally broke them down.

I did these huge charts, enormous charts that were pinned up on the wall, which broke each chapter down, what was in it, when there was action, when there was dialogue, when there was this, when there was that.

And in essence, you know, if you're going to make the world's best mousetrap, you examine all the other mousetraps.

So I examined these two mousetraps.

I don't know if they helped at all, but it did in a bit.

I mean, there were moments when I would find myself in difficulty how to...

move from one scene to another, and I would look at these charts and find out how they did it.
