It was all just a story I had with one of my friends who was in the Army.
We talked about joining in together and he was older and he had, I got a letter from saying he died in active combat.
He... How does this break her trust?
Well, I'm getting there.
And so I ended up using... Because he would send me letters about his updating through BASIC and then he would get deployed and he would let me know how he was doing.
And I ended up taking those stories and be like, yeah, this is what we did while we were enlisted together.
I didn't do anything with the VA.
I'd never contacted the VA about anything.
I was just saying I was doing it, but I never actually did.
Not a lot of people?
That you were a vet?
Our friend group, yeah.
But no, I wasn't going on the rent down the street telling them, like, yeah, I'm in the service.
