I think depth is just absolutely the main thing Liverpool have to go after.
And obviously quality depth, because there have been options this season off the bench, like Chiesa and Endo, who at times the manager hasn't wanted to turn to.
And listen, maybe he could have used them more, but I think...
And probably, you know, if those players had been starting a Champions League semi-final, most fans would have been like, well, they're not good enough.
And so I think Liverpool do need to, you look at the options that Arsenal were able to bring off, and obviously they don't win the Champions League on Saturday, but they bring Eze on, they bring...
Zouba Mendy on, I think.
Yeah, so they're able to bring on players who you think are capable of starting that game.
And Liverpool just don't have that.
And I think, you know, I remember a few years back, it was the season Liverpool lost all of the centre-backs and Dejan Lovren had gone in the summer.
And I remember thinking in the summer, they've got a sign under the centre-back and they risked it and they didn't.
And obviously they get incredibly unlucky to lose three centre-backs to season-ended injuries, but that can happen.
And it can particularly happen if you're playing an aggressive, heavy metal style of football.
And so I think that a lot of the messaging over the last few days has been that resources are going to be pumped into maybe the top end of the pitch as opposed to defence.
I think that's an enormous risk.
And listen, it's one that could pay off because Jeremy Jacquet is obviously incredibly highly rated.
He could come in, hit the ground running, be...
the next William Saliba who is top, top quality Van Dijk could stay fit all season and you don't have to rotate them but I think again if you strip it down as Josh said you've got a 35 year old who's played more than he probably should have done this season you've got a 19 year old who's just coming back from an ACL injury you've got a 20 year old who's never played in the Premier League and you've got Joe Gomez who
can be a top player on his day but just can't be relied upon to stay fit so that for me is an enormous risk and I think as well you know you look at Arsenal's depth at the back in terms of players who are capable of playing centre back just from their defence they've had this season Saliba Gabriel and Kapier
Calfiore, Timber, Mosquera, Ben White.
That's seven players just from the pool of defence alone who can play in central defence.
