Neil, every player that ran out on the ground, you know, he can't pick with his left foot.

He's no good.

He can't handball.

And I said to him, I said, Neil, I hate to tell you this, but we've actually got to fill the side next Saturday.

He was just extraordinary at getting the best out of people, tough to look people in the eye.

He certainly wasn't a bloke in cross.

I did have one incident with him.

We were up in Sydney playing the Swans and Stephen Phoebe was getting to the end of his career.

Well, I think he's going to be remembered as a man who,

faced total adversity and took it head on and refused to give in and I think that's a legacy that we can all learn from because the world every day in our lives we all face adversity that's a fact and we can all learn from Neil's ability just to look that head on stare it down and say bagger it I'm going to get on with it I'm going to live my life I'm going to live it to the fullest I'm going to

I mean, it's quite funny.

I was talking to Beck yesterday, and it's almost as though Neil planned this perfectly.

He's passed away, he's given everybody a two-week lead time into the game.

It's almost right to the end, Neil was a meticulous planner.

If we can't pack out the MCG, I'd be seriously disappointed.
