What are we going to do?

There was Dr. Ian Davis, who sadly died of MMD, Pat Cunningham, who's well known to us all.

They got together and decided we've got to come up with something.

Hence the beanies and with the help of the Melbourne Football Club, and I stress the Collingwood Football Club, this idea emerged.

And then somehow they wrote me into being chairman and

sort of the rest is history.

But it's all to do with Neil.

We've all had an impact on it, obviously, but Neil's drive and energy right to the end is extraordinary.

You know, he's texting, he's still texting me after every Melbourne game.

It's incredible.

You know, I'd get a three-paragraph, I can barely text, and he'd send me a three, and he can't use his hands with his eyes, he'd send me a three-paragraph text about

Melbourne's midfield and I should be doing this.

And how come that didn't come from the halfback flank?

It was extraordinary.

I was involved.

I was Neil's footy director for a long time.

So I was very involved.
