There's really no question about it.
I'm seeing it in the exhibitors that are coming in, I'm seeing it in the trends, I'm seeing it in the size of our industry, and I'm seeing it in the guts of what we're actually putting in our environments.

from day one and not always retrofitting from uh not not retrofitting later right so we're seeing this massive implication where ai is now the primary design assumption not an edge case and i firmly believe that every data center is going to become an ai data center it just depends on how quickly you can get there and also like who your partners are to get you there as well as a result
density holy cow we have to talk about this for just one second okay 10 years ago when i wrote the first ever report the density the average rack density was 6.1 kw per rack um last year in the report it was 16 kw per rack yeah go team we're increasing it good job everybody this year 70 percent increase year over year 27 kilowatts per rack now remember this report covers
small couple thousand square foot facilities, all the way to the hyperscalers.
So we get a really good aggregate data point that we can work with now.
Now, if you're thinking about it from a practical perspective, Ken Patchett, who's currently at Lambda Labs, I was doing a keynote with him last year at the Data Center Frontier Trend Summit.
And he gets up there and he's like, Bill, when I was at Microsoft in 1988, we were running those racks at one KW per rack.
