Why do you think that is?
What did Angus Taylor, the opposition leader, say about the Faro result?
Yeah, wow.
So we have...
Two years now until the next federal election.
I mean, the thought of them turning it around, I mean, two years is relatively short.
They have slumped so, I mean, at the last election, they had such a poor result.
Like you said, it was a historic low.
And since that time, it has just kept dropping to even more historic lows.
Okay I want to get to what this means for One Nation and the rise of One Nation that we have seen but first here is a quick message from today's sponsor.
Emma, I want to turn our attention to One Nation.
I think since the last election there has been so much conversation about this rise of One Nation, but until now we've mostly just been relying on polls and there hasn't actually been a by-election where we could test if those polls were accurate.
And they got two seats, was it?
So we have a lot of evidence now that One Nation is well and truly on its way up in the Australian political landscape.
For anyone who's not super familiar with One Nation, what do we need to know about them?
One thing that I want to say about the rise of One Nation is every time that the Daily Aus has covered this rise, I guess, in the last six months, some people in the audience have criticised us saying the media is making this such a bigger deal than it actually is and saying they don't have this support.
It's the polls being inaccurate.
But I think, again, I know I've already said that now there is enough evidence to suggest that there is this rise, but I do really think that it is important that the media does report on the fact that there is this quite significant swing just in the last six months towards One Nation.
Why do you think that is?
And just quickly on that, Barnaby Joyce is a One Nation MP in the lower house, but he defected.
