But I know a lot of friends, gay friends, but also just straight people, friends of mine who wanted a career in the arts and that really scared their parents, which it didn't not scare my parents.
Mm-hmm.
But they knew that this was my life and they could see from a young age how much I lived and breathed it.
Like this was my passion.
I say in the book, like this was my motor from the beginning and they were not going to try to convince me to be something else.
I think I would imagine a parent has a vision for like who their kid is going to be, who they want them to be.
And I was not the child that my parents were expecting, you know, but they quickly kind of noticed it and
And from a very young age, their default mode with me was always to just love me and not try to convince me to be interested in other things or to let fear guide my choices.
Never, never, ever.
You know, even when I got older and Billy on the Street doesn't become a TV show till 32 years old.
And my mom's gone for 12 years.
My dad's in his seventies.
He's starting to get worried for me, you know?
But even then he knew he was like,
I had come so close, even though it hadn't quite happened yet.
And like, he, it would have broken his heart to like, not, not like, let me try.
And so, yeah, I'm very lucky.
And a lot of kids don't get that.
And so if you're a parent or thinking about being a parent, like, I don't know, we only go around once in this world.
