I don't know whether you drive an electric car yourself, but I do.
And some of the problems you'll have is, you know, if I go into a shopping centre and I plug my electric car in and I go into the shop, sometimes I come out and it hasn't charged, right?
There's issues.
with regards to the communications interface between the charger and the bus itself.
Or there's an issue with the car, there's an issue with the charger itself.
So there's a myriad of technical issues that can actually go wrong on you.
The bus fleet is no different, okay?
So, except we're doing it on a much larger power scale and on a much bigger scale.
So you're seeing it more pronounced than let's say the normal sort of car driver would see it for the smaller number of occasions that they're using it.
So they're the technical issues that we're seeing.
We're working extremely hard with the manufacturers of the chargers and the buses to address those issues and address those problems to allow us to adopt that at a quicker rate.
Well, I can't comment on the buses and the purchasing of the buses because, as I said, the National Transport Authority have... So I'm not familiar with the contract they have and the many buses they have and everything else, but I am very familiar with the amount of buses that we're using and so on and our demand for them.
Look, as I said earlier, we slowed down the implementation of the electrification program to protect our customers and protect the reliability of our service to our customers.
Had we really accelerated that program, which we technically could have done, we would have ended up dropping service to our customer on the street and we couldn't do that.
However, if we get these issues with regards to the technical issues with the charges and the buses fixed, then we should be in a position where we can accelerate that program.
We won't be, you know, certainly I won't be advocating for, you know, pushing buses into service for the sake of our climate action targets that's going to decimate the service we're providing to our customers.
There's other ways of addressing the climate action targets with regards to the use of biofuels and all.
And we can look at, you know, as an interim measure, a blended approach with regards to increasing our use of biofuels with electrification, with hybrids and so on to reduce our CO2 emissions.
But at the same time, keep our service and reliable service going to our customers.
No, we're reasonably protected by that because we keep good contingencies between ourselves, BusAire and Irish Rail.
