All of my films that I write typically land somewhere in Appalachia or in the South. So this film really spoke to me on a lot of levels, including the musical elements to it. I don't want to give too much just in case you haven't seen it because it's still in theaters. But another film that I recently saw that I was obsessed with last year was The Substance.

And sadly, it didn't win Best Picture because horror always gets known at the Academy Awards. But I'm really hoping this year, well, the coming year for the academies that may be hopefully crossing my fingers centers will get nominated and win. Yeah. Also, I recently saw a film called Nocturna. This was recommended to me from a film festival director that I was speaking to about Argentinian films.

And I'm a big Jacob's Ladder fan, and he said this was akin to that. So I checked it out. Excellent, excellent film. So Nocturna. And another film that I always go back to, that I recommend all the time to newbies to the genre, is Evil Dead 2. It's just such a fun movie. It's really just Evil Dead again, but it's slightly more elevated because it is Sam Raimi's second attempt at the film.
