And again, my own context, my own school, we believed it was a good decision to make.

But again, when you're in a relatively new school, you don't always have the history in regards to new learning, so it was probably somewhat easier for us to implement than some other schools around the country that had had different pedagogical views on structured literacy.

Absolutely.

And for us, it's back to that three key stakeholders.

If the parents are not part of the conversation, it makes it really difficult to, I guess, sort of harbour any momentum.

As soon as we started Structured Literacy, it was parent evenings to make sure they were communicated with.

Those were available using Screencastify on our Facebook page.

So for those parents who weren't there, they were able to get the information that they required.

And then from a school point of view, our parents somewhat do the heavy lifting for us.

When there's something positive going on in the school, they talk to other parents.

And we've mentioned social media is in a negative light before, but from a positive point of view, my parents are incredibly loyal and supportive of the school.

So when people have questions,

online about content or online about staff or systems they're the first ones to step up and say hey reach out to the school or because we do, we do our best to communicate and it's a real I guess probably my own parent had on the empathy to go actually we have communicated that but you know what sometimes I don't

notice everything that comes through my inbox either.

So I find some people get a bit grumpy or a bit negative in regards to the people asking the same questions more than once.

I'd rather people know.

So if you have to ask more than once, I can just redirect you to the right place.

But life is busy and we are well and truly comfortable with people asking questions.

So that's our journey around it.
