This is a guy who part of the reason that the Blue Jays were so attracted to him is because he posts.
He makes 32 starts every year.
You got to imagine that he's going to do that again this season.
Yeah, I mean, this is probably the best stuff we've seen from a Blue Jays pitcher since Roger Clemens, if not better stuff.
I mean, that's hard to say about a seven-time Cy Young Award winner who, you know, at his peak had like 100 miles an hour with the heater and the nastiest splitter you've ever seen.
But, I mean, this is a, you know, 2026 season.
optimized uh repertoire that we're talking about here right these these pitches have been designed in a lab so um yeah he's been absolutely remarkable and um you know he has a real chance i think to go down as one of the easily one of the top five best pitching seasons in franchise history and what's really encouraging is that this is year one of a seven-year deal right he's still firmly in his peak there's lots more of dylan sees to come and yeah i mean you really can't be more enthused
than you currently are from what you've seen from Dylan Cease.
And even if you adjust for league and for park and for all that stuff, you know, basically every number that he's put up so far is either the best or top five in Blue Jays franchise history.
This is unbelievable stuff that we've seen so far.
I should point out that the best, obviously the best single season ERA for a starting pitcher in Blue Jays franchise history, that belongs to Roger Clemens, 1997, one of his Cy Young seasons.
Do you know who has this next lowest ERA from a starting pitcher?
What was Clemens that year?
Clemens was 205 in 97.
Cease is currently at 241 in 2026.
So there's one pitcher in between them at 224.
Do you remember who that was?
Huh?
No.
We saw him over the weekend, Alec Manoa.
