What would I look for in a freshman or sophomore in college who doesn't have work experience yet?
Side projects.
When I was something like 15, I got my first real software job at what was probably the only software company in Cincinnati where I grew up.
I think because I did okay in an interview and I'd built some things on the side and they felt like they just kind of had to give me a chance.
And at Boom, we will hire people early career with no work experience, but they have to have done something else that demonstrates having been extraordinary.

And it's basically go create whatever you want to go do.
But in doing that, you have to tell us something extraordinary about yourself, something that makes you really stand out.
And if you don't have work experience yet, just show the most impressive thing that you've built on the side and show it with pictures.
And that's how you can bootstrap yourself.
And I find this is true of a lot of good people.
They find a way to do things that at normally young ages.
And so this notion of like, oh, you have to be like a junior in college to get an internship.
Nope, that's baloney.
All the best people have gotten internships way earlier than that, and you can do it too.
