And then his barrister gets up and basically tries to discredit you and
questions you but he is right he doesn't have to speak so he never spoke the whole time of the two week trial he never said a word he never had to defend a thing because I used to think how's he going to like there was DNA evidence and there was you know like the doctor's reports and I'd be like how's he going to get out of this yeah what's he going to say and I didn't know until like two weeks before the trial that he actually doesn't say anything he doesn't have to defend himself at all he doesn't have to say anything
Yeah, so you basically have to prove his guilt rather than him prove his innocence.
Yeah.
And that's really hard because you're going through all this, but you think, well, if I have to do it, at least he has to do it too.
And then he doesn't.
And you're like, oh, for fuck's sake.
They didn't use mine.
They looked for them.
They didn't use them.
I don't think there was anything in them.
But, like, again, the first day you go for counselling, you're told his team will come and look for these.
So, you know, be mindful for what you say in here because we legally have to take notes and they can be used.

Yeah and it's they're caught it like I really feel for the councillors they're in a position where they don't want to do it they think it's horrific and like you have the Department of Justice you know telling people to use these services and stuff like that
And then you're told, well, these actually can be used and they are used, you know, in trials against people.
And also it's like for a lot of people, they don't have another support circle outside.
Maybe their counsellor is the only person outside of reporting this that knows.
They mightn't have family and friends.
And like that, that's such a breach of trust.
