That's a great question, Steve.
Thanks for having me back.
Listen, the Texas Railroad Commission doesn't have anything to do with trains anymore.
It's just strictly the regulator for the oil and gas industry and the mining industry in Texas, which is our most important industry.
You know, Texas produces almost half the oil and gas in the United States.
And so I think rightly, President Trump recognizes that our energy prices are a national security issue, which is why he's focused on Venezuela, potentially Iran with two of the largest oil reserves in the world.
But
Texas, we have to solidify our industry here and make sure it is as strong as can be, as competitive as can be.
And I'm running because my family's been in the oil business for 80 years.
I've been in the oil business most of my career.
It's a hugely important industry to me personally and to my family.
And so I want to make sure that we have the best industry we can.
And my opponent, the guy that I'm running against, has drastically increased regulations.
He's increased the focus on DEI at a time when most of the country has recognized that DEI is racist, like affirmative action, and is working to reduce that.
And then, you know, I've been
the leader, really, in Texas.
I was the first elected official, I think, to really come out strongly against Islam and what it's doing here in Texas with over 330 mosques now.
Just here in DFW, we have over 70 mosques.
So it is a threat.
I saw you had lots of people on the show, and they're talking about the threat.
