I was asked to be on Fox News to comment on President Obama's small business agenda.
And we had set this up about a week ago.
So, of course, we didn't know what was going on.
And I went on and said, I got nothing.
This is going to be a short conversation.
He mentioned small business once.
And it was a throwaway line that, well, small business, we need to give them tax incentives so they can pay more for their people.
Well, that's not what small business wants.
What small business wants is access to capital.
And, of course, the easy answer is we need to keep our small business surviving until the unemployment gets down to a realistic level where we get the GDP growing again.
But you're actually right.
Access to capital is the hot topic.
It's what we're all concerned about.
It's what I track, and it's very, very complicated.
Now, we need to keep this in perspective, Paul and Jill.
The conversation we're having today is a
better than we had two years ago, but it is still a difficult task to navigate today.
through everything that's going on, and the lending environment has changed so much in the last five years.
We need to remember that.
We can't forget that.
