Uh the biggest thing is of course you'll hear this from everybody involved in outdoor recreation is funding. matched

disappointed in the fact that especially here locally in Colorado Springs, when there's a funding issue, the first thing that gets cut is the parks department. matched

Um and to give you some retrospect on how that how that is, is when we had the Great Recession matched

Was that two thousand eight? matched

Um the parks department was cut drastically. matched

I mean it almost didn't exist. matched

Funding for the Parks Department is still not where it was prior to matched

The Great Recession. matched

And it got cut again this year. matched

And this is right after the mayor on my podcast told me he was gonna treat the parks department as a critical infrastructure. matched

And then that made it for about a year. matched

Then after that was like, Well, not so much. matched

We're gonna cut the heck out of the parks department. matched

So matched

And my beef with that, I get it. matched

I understand how things were. matched

And I was a public safety person, so I understand public safety is important and has to come first. matched

But as a place where we invite people to come here. matched

And enjoy our parks and our open spaces and our trails. matched
