So why aren't any of those hikes on here, Bob?
Well, to be fair, we did some hiking, but it wasn't like it was long distances or anything like that.
Photographically, those were the best times, but they were all relatively short hikes.
You don't do a lot of long hikes on those trips.
So as much as that was probably one of the best experiences of my life, it wasn't the best hike I'd done for the year.
Lost Man Loop is a lot of fun.
It comes off the top of Independence Pass, and you hike past Lincoln's Lake, which is right near the trailhead, and then you go by American Lake, and then you go all the way up to the top to Lost Man Lake.
And a lot of people go up there and come back.
But me and a couple of friends and Cole, Cole was just a pup at the time, able to do much.
He's sitting here below us just snoozing underneath the desk.
You then can make that into kind of a loop.
You keep going past the lake.
Once you get up to the lake, which is uphill all the way, but it's not hard, you then circle around and drop down.
You come down.
several miles down the road.
So you have to do this as a two car shuttle, which is what we did.
We drove down to the bottom, not the bottom, but we down to the lower trailhead, lost man trailhead, parked one car, drove back up, parked the other car at the, at the trailhead.
And this is right near the, just over the West side of the top of Independence Pass.
Just, it was such a beautiful hike.
