He was, you know, put in the backfield at times.

They didn't utilize him the same way Miami did.

There's a place for Johnny Smith on a roster.

I'm just not sure it's with Pittsburgh.

And I don't think it's for 12 million really anywhere in the league right now.

He's not that type of player anymore.

He can be a useful player, but he's got to get to the right scheme.

My guess is they will take a quarterback at some point in that middle round period.

And the reason is if they have 12 picks, and the compensatory picks haven't dropped yet, but you're probably gonna get another third, another fourth, a fifth, and a sixth.

So there's four more picks likely coming to that from their haul last year in free agency.

The thing about the quarterback position is if you don't have one, it's probably best to keep shooting at them.

And what I mean by that is just take a dart every single year and throw it.

You're not burning a pick.

You have 12 picks.

It's not like they're only working with six or five or six here where they have needs to fill.

And the Steelers certainly do have needs to fill.

I don't expect it to come super early unless Simpson falls.

That's the kind of variable.

If Ty Simpson starts to fall into the middle of the second round, that's where I think that pops up.
