You want guys who can do different things, not one-dimensional things.
And if you can do all of that and you got some dudes, now you've built a defense that suppresses explosive plays, generates takeaways, and is just not that fun to play against, which we've seen in Philadelphia for a couple years now since Fangio got there.
Him and Christian Parker got there in the spring of 24, and they went right to the Super Bowl and won.
And then last year their defense was really pretty solid again.
and that got Parker this job.

And that's, you know, again, he's not Michael Parsons.

He's being brought here to be, uh, a, a, a piece of a, a very stout front.
And I think Jalen Thompson is worth circling back on just a little bit because I do think they had him earmarked for the Caleb Downs role in the event they couldn't get Caleb Downs on draft day, which is the hybrid nickel safety who can play deep, but he's actually better the closer you get him to the ball.
So I think there will be times this year when they're both healthy that they'll mess with the defenses by,
dropping Caleb back and sneaking Jalen up there.
And I think most offenses will say, oh, Caleb's deep.
Okay, we're good.
And then they got Jalen Thompson doing some crazy stuff down there.
Because at Arizona, he was one of those guys where you would say, okay, nickel, you know, kind of that star position, kind of that nickel safety.
could Jalen Thompson be the answer to what we need?
And I think the Cowboys felt like we better cover ourselves in case we don't get the guy we want.
And I remember, I think I pitched to you on Football Friends, should we be sniffing around on Minka Fitzpatrick?
And I love Minka, but he is pretty high miles on the odometer.
