Well, it doesn't happen very often, but two winter storms in a week in the deep south, that's what's going to happen from Charlotte all the way down through Atlanta.
Winter storm watches for those big cities, probably turning into winter storm warnings overnight tonight for Charlotte and the rest of the Piedmont.
That snow is going to start on Friday evening and then carry over through Saturday where it picks up in intensity.
Some of these snowfall areas, you can see as much as 6%.
to 12 inches outside of Charlotte up across the mountains and swinging down around across a low country, South Carolina, even around Charleston.
Could see a few inches of snow.
That's going to be ending out on Sunday when the coldest air of the season rockets in with extreme cold temperatures.

This storm, unfortunately, it came as predicted, and it continues to gain some strength.
Now, we've already seen icing.
That's freezing rain.
In Nashville, Tennessee, power outages galore.
And once it powers out, the temperatures are going to feel like the negative 20s in some of these spots.
So you're talking about a wind chill of about minus 7 in Nashville itself.
Where is the snow going?
Up into the mid-Atlantic, New York City, you're going to see about 6 to 10 inches of snow.
Same with Philadelphia, but you're going to mix it in with a little bit of sleet and freezing rain.
For you guys in Washington, about 3 to 5 inches of sleet and snow.
It's really a winter mess.
