To have people be warmer to me is the second time I meet them, if I know their name immediately because I remembered it the first time we met, they feel seen.
They feel like our interaction mattered.
I feel that way whenever someone does it to me.
If it's somebody that I met briefly and they're like, hey Bobby.
Like, wow, that person did whatever they had to do in their brain to go plant this flag.
This is this person's name.
If you want to make somebody feel seen.
Remember their name.
Those little things like that will help you in the future so much.
The trick that I do is I say the person's name back twice.
It doesn't really have to be the thing that you do.
But let's say I were to meet Brandon for the first time.
He's like, hey, I'm Brandon.
Hey Brandon and Bobby, nice to meet you.
And then what I do is I bring up Brandon another time just to say the name semi-early on.
That typically works.
I would do meet and greets with people.
before like my stand-up shows, you're gonna think I'm crazy, but I could tell you every single person's name.
If there were 30 to 35 of them, at the end of the night, I could tell you every single one of their names.
Now at this point, I can't because that's short term memory.
