So back in 1997, one of the most important moments in sports history, a 21-year-old Tiger Woods destroys the field.

At the time, he was the youngest champion ever.

Twelve strokes is still the most anyone has ever won by.

He finished 18 under par.

That was a record.

He became the first black golfer and first non-white golfer to win the Masters.

So Tiger instantly changed golf because golf was for old people.

TV ratings were fine, but now they were just about to get mainstream good.

Golf stars were kind of niche famous, but now Tiger Woods was Michael Jordan famous.
